What defines your human worth?
Your achievements yesterday, or perhaps what you have done (and not done) today? Your opinions about how you have succeeded or failed? Contributed and been useful (whatever that is)? Does this determine how you view yourself, based on what and how you have delivered lately? Do you sometimes hear yourself say that you are valuable just because you exist, only to, with your next breath beat yourself up, with a lot of inner critic self-talk? Welcome to humanity!
Have you even asked yourself the question what carries your human worth? To see and understand what carries your fundamental self-image can help you strengthen what is healthy and supports your well-being, as well as begin to redefine and strengthen what is swaying within you today.
Why?
Because your image of your own human worth will affect how you live your life, how you relate to the external and internal world. What carries our worth becomes our worldview, the way we see life. Does it open, or does it narrow and close?
Many of us believe that the painful thoughts we sometimes have about ourselves are true. Thoughts that were once words someone else let us hear repeatedly, until we ourselves arranged like a nest for them deep within our heads. Since then, they tend to drive us, as opposed to when we see that we HAVE thoughts, and that we ARE NOT our thoughts. This could be one of the most eye-opening changes in perception of ourselves, which in turn might help us to choose a more meaningful life path.
Because, beyond these thoughts lives our inner core, the part that carries our pure human worth. Here we are. Beyond achievements and quick deliveries, beyond ideas of ideals and believes in “musts” and “have to”, beyond limiting thoughts and feelings.
Is everything possible then? Perhaps not. However, we humans are so much more than what we often are aware of. Life becomes so much bigger and richer when we start here, in the inner core, instead of searching on the outside for confirmation and superficial identity. When, in a specific moment, we cannot manage to do what we think we should, when we fail to feel satisfied and grateful, we often lose our own ground. When we choose to start from the inside and then go outwards, we make choices from our inner core, where we carry what is profoundly meaningful to us. The inner core is stable, enduring, giving us an inner ground. Then we can clearly see and live from the standpoint that every one of us has a pure human worth just because we are.
Curious on how to learn more about yourself, visiting and strengthening your inner core? Do you want to explore and challenge your all too narrow, inner images of yourself and you in the world? Have you already taken some steps and now want to continue your inner journey? Do you want to redefine and expand yourself and your self? Practice acceptance and acting based on what is truly important and meaningful for you and your life?
It takes courage and a lust for adventure to embark on a journey to one's inner core. As is known, together is less alone, so we help each other. In a group of like-minded (and hearted) people, we work with the self and our innermost, completely humanly beautiful core. Come and expand yourself, together!
